A retired firefighter recently traveled nearly 800 miles to attend the college graduation of a young woman he helped deliver as a baby twenty-two years ago. After responding to an emergency call in 2004, firefighter Alan Kent became the first person to hold newborn Chloe Huddle.

But the story did not end there. Chloe’s family stayed in contact with him for years, celebrating birthdays at the fire station and building a lifelong bond. Today, Kent says watching Chloe grow up has been one of the highlights of his career.

Every life is precious. Just as we celebrate Alan for his part in bringing Chloe into this world, we should celebrate all mothers who find themselves in a difficult position yet choose life.
