Deception Is not an Argument

A recent trick has been spreading online among young pro-abortion advocates. They attempt to embarrass pro-lifers by showing an image of a dog or dolphin embryo and asking, “do you really think this is a human being?”

If the pro-lifer mistakes the dog embryo for a human embryo, the abortion advocate mocks them.

This trick is only possible because for those of us who are not embryologists, many mammalian embryos look very similar. But deception is not an argument.

A case of mistaken identity does not change reality. We do not have our right to life because of what we look like, we have a right to life because of what we are. To learn how to defend your pro-life views, visit our pro-life apologetics resource at lifeissues.org.
