In yet another example of free speech violations against pro-life advocates, a seventy-five-year-old Scottish grandmother was arrested for simply holding a sign silently. Rose Docherty was holding a sign which said “Coercion is a crime, here to talk, only if you want.” Because her peaceful display of love was deemed to be within 200 meters of the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital. She has been criminally charged because Scotland has so-called buffer laws preventing free speech surrounding abortion facilities. This is not Rose’s first run-in with the law. She was arrested once before for holding the very same sign with love. It is crucial that we retain the right to speak boldly in defense of those who cannot defend themselves. Join us in prayer for bold voices like Rose.
