It took a researcher at Yale and a psychology student at the University of Amsterdam to tell us something we already knew. Their study found if you sing to your fussy infant you’ll calm her down. Singing to babies will improve the mental well-being of infants and benefit the health of the entire family. One of the researchers correctly said, “Every parent knows that the mood of an infant affects everyone around that infant.” I think you and I could have saved these people a lot of time and a ton of money if they’d first come to us – or most any other parent. However, their findings are good for those who haven’t known the joy of holding a young baby in their arms while singing a soothing melody. One of life’s greatest pleasures.
