Advancements in medicine are nothing short of amazing. Lucy Isaac’s unborn son was twenty weeks old while facing stage two ovarian cancer. The problem was doctors couldn’t reach the spreading cancer because little Rafferty was in the way. So, they momentarily removed him and the womb in which he resided. For two hours Rafferty hung out outside his mom’s body while surgeons removed the cancer. Afterward he was carefully placed back inside. At full term, Rafferty was born weighing over six pounds, and he’s doing splendidly. Lucy took him back to the hospital for a little reunion with the doctors who cared for both patients. This medical victory was especially meaningful because two years earlier, Adam, Lucy’s husband had a kidney transplant. Much to be thankful for.
