An assisted suicide bill in the UK is experiencing a tumultuous battle in Parliament. At first considered a sure thing, now its future looks like that of the bill’s would be patients – terminated. Polling of Britain’s shows a decided majority fear people will choose assisted suicide because they’d be a burden. The elderly will be pressured into dying and people with disabilities will be at a higher risk. They also believe people with mental illnesses will also be vulnerable. Even supporters are now expressing alarm. Six Members of Parliament who previously supported the bill are now urging their colleagues to oppose it saying it’s “irredeemably flawed.” MP’s see the numbers of people dying from assisted suicide in Belgium, the Netherlands, and Canada spiraling out of control. Please pray.
