For the past four decades presidential candidates of every party have attended the Al Smith Dinner in New York City. It’s a white tie fundraiser for charities supporting children of various needs in the Archdiocese. This year Vice President Kamala Harris will be skipping the dinner. Political pundits believe it’s because of her position on abortion. Bishop Michael Burbidge is the Chairman of the Committee on Pro-Life Activities for the US Conference of Catholic Bishops. He recently declared the issue of abortion remains the “preeminent priority” of the group. Let’s pray Ms. Harris has a change of heart in her support of abortion.
