Fastest Shrinking Country in the World

Italy’s the fastest shrinking country in the world.  Considering it is the epicenter of the Catholic faith, this may surprise you.  But their fertility rate is only one point thirty-two.  Two point one is needed to maintain its population.  There are more deaths in the country than births.  Italy’s Prime Minister is working to pass the Maternity Income Bill that would pay some woman one thousand euros a month during the baby’s first five years of life.  A sure-fire way to slow down Italy’s depopulation would be to pass a law ending abortion.  We researched the entire world to determine the fertility rate of every country and what they’re doing to increase their populations.  You can find this map on the home page of our website at life issues dot org.
