As president of the International Right to Life Federation, it saddens me when my colleagues share stories of how members of the clergy fail to support or outright oppose their efforts to save unborn babies. The Keswick Convention is considered one of the most conservative evangelical conferences in the UK. But it has blacklisted the group Brephos, which specializes in training pastors and churches how to respond to abortion. They had a display of a living unborn child at nine weeks, hundreds of yards away from the conference site. Yet still conference organizers alerted police to their presence. Thankfully, leading evangelical pastors came to Brephos’ defense. If you experience a church body objecting to pro-life work, a persistent, patient and loving approach is needed.
