A pastor in Ireland was officiating at a funeral attended by a pro-abortion politician. He had voted to repeal their Eighth Amendment which protected Ireland’s unborn babies. The Senator approached Father Gabriel Burke to receive communion. The priest only gave him a blessing so the elected official said he was there to receive communion. The priest’s response was an example for clergy everywhere to emulate. Father Burke said, “You are not getting holy communion.” He then leaned in for added effect and said, “You have been excommunicated.” Was he being too hard on the Senator? I don’t think so. He sold his soul for political gain and now millions of Irish preborn children will die in-part because of his actions. I might have offered up the tar and feathers.
