Canada has a government controlled healthcare system funded by tax dollars. And they legalized euthanasia, so MAID or Medical Aid in Dying can be offered when a patient is a drain on the system. Heather Hancock is chronically ill. One morning in the hospital she was having a difficult day and a nurse said, “You really should consider MAID. You’re not living. You’re just existing.” To which Heather said, “Who gives you the right to judge?” And then the nurse accused her of “being selfish.” Heather said she told the nurse that her life was no less valuable than any other, which was met with mocking laughter. This, my friend is what’s in store for Americans as we move toward government controlled healthcare and legalization of assisted suicide or euthanasia.
