A recent internet out resulted in thousands of canceled flights, and I thanked God numerous times that I wasn’t flying. Not so with Sean Dietrich. Frustrations and tempers were high for a plane load of passengers in line to board. A teenage boy with Down syndrome was there with his mom. This young comedian made it his mission to dole out heartfelt hugs and jokes one-on-one to get each passenger to smile. And it worked! Sean told his mother he likely got that sense of humor from her. She said, “Lord no. His biological parents left him in a dumpster as a baby behind a restaurant. I was just the one who was lucky enough to find him.” Sean ended his column with “Some folks get all the luck.” Friend, help us share the blessings of Down syndrome.
