Five Lies

Today the Senate is holding a committee hearing attacking states with pro-life laws, spewing lies to frighten women.  They say young doctors aren’t going there for residency.  False, residency applications have declined in every state.  It’s safer to get an abortion than give birth.  False, women are three times more likely to die after an abortion than those giving birth.  Women are dying because doctors aren’t allowed to provide care.  False, every state protects a woman’s right to receive urgent care.  Abortion trafficking laws prevent women from going out of state for abortions.  False, they prevent taking minors across state lines for abortions without parent’s consent.  Abortion’s the compassionate option for babies with disabilities.  False, brutally killing a baby by abortion is never compassionate.
