We had a significant pro-life victory this week. The American Medical Association fought back multiple efforts to drop their opposition to euthanasia. The first resolution would’ve changed their opposition of euthanasia to supporting it. When that failed, they tried to make the AMA neutral on the issue but that also failed. Both of these resolutions would’ve changed the terminology of physician-assisted suicide and euthanasia to the euphemism used by Canada, Medical Aid in Dying. It makes the killing of a physician’s patient sound less ominous than it really is. The AMA is aggressively pro-abortion and rejects any protections for the unborn throughout pregnancy. So, we truly thank God for this victory, but physicians must be ever vigilant because the pro-death side won’t give up.
