New Speaker of the House

After weeks of confusion, Congressional Republicans elected a Speaker of the House.  This powerful position went to Louisiana Congressman Mike Johnson.  Johnson has a long and bold record of defending the unborn and their mothers – a list is too long to share here.  Johnson served in the Louisiana State Legislature and prior to being elected to Congress he was the senior spokesperson for Alliance Defending Freedom, a Christian legal advocacy group.  Speaker Johnson is described as a devout Christian and passionate opponent of abortion.  Will anything break the gridlock in Congress?  That’s an unknow but the new Speaker seems to have a talent for unifying – especially considering he united Republican members of Congress around him.  Our job now is to pray for him.
