Bonner General Health in Sandpoint, Idaho is abandoning pregnant mothers by closing its maternity ward. The hospital blamed pro-life laws claiming, “The Idaho Legislature continues to introduce and pass bills that criminalize physicians for medical care.” They meant abortion, but Idaho doesn’t ban healthcare; they do ban elective abortion. There are clear allowances for doctors to treat patients experiencing a miscarriage, ectopic pregnancy or a situation where the mother’s life is at risk. But abortionists who kill unborn babies face penalties. The more likely reason for closing the maternity ward is economics. The hospital said local demographics are changing with fewer babies being born. They claim abortion is healthcare, which it isn’t. It’s the brutal killing of an innocent preborn child.
