After nearly destroying their company brand over the Christmas holiday, Southwest Airline is doing its level best make the process complete. Charlene Carter was a flight attendant for over 20 years but was fired. She posted on her personal Facebook account disagreement with the workers union using her dues to support pro-abortion candidates. At the request of the union, Southwest fired her. She sued and a federal judge and jury ruled in her favor, awarding her over five million dollars and required the airline to rehire her. Southwest won’t let it go and is asking for a new trial, claiming they don’t discriminate against free speech when a judge and jury ruled they do. Southwest is already hemorrhaging passengers, and this latest action is foolhardy.
