IT HAS FINALLY HAPPENED! Roe v Wade has been overturned!
At long last Roe has been relegated to the ash heap of history where it belongs. The horrors abortion has inflicted upon our nation are incalculable. Roe will ultimately be regarded as one of the most unjust and inhumane Supreme Court rulings in our nation’s history.
The bloody edict of abortion on demand throughout pregnancy was imposed on all 50 states by seven unelected US Supreme Court justices in a 7-2 1973 decision. By decree, states were rendered powerless to defend their most treasured natural resource – preborn babies.
What does the demise of Roe mean for America and where do we go from here?
Roe’s reversal dramatically changes the landscape of abortion law in America.
Some of my colleagues and I have worked toward this goal for decades, in my case 46 years, and it feels somewhat surreal that it, at long last, has happened. But this isn’t about us, it’s about the babies and their mothers, fathers, grandparents, aunts, uncles and other extended family and friends.
It’s about our nation that is a great deal poorer because more than 63,700,000 of her citizens are missing from society. Individuals who by God’s design would have contributed to this great country regardless of the circumstances of their conceptions.
Abortion is a cancer. It maims, devastates, or kills everything and everyone in its path. It doesn’t matter if you’re rich or poor, Republican or Democrat, religious or atheist, abortion’s victims have represented all categories of society.
In addition to ending the life of the baby, unrestrained abortion has created a segment of society that suffers from abortion trauma. They daily struggle with the loss of their babies to abortion. Mothers and fathers who were often deceived by the abortion industry about the humanity of their children in order to keep the cash cow of abortion lining their pockets with blood money.
Contrary to the belief of many Americans, Roe’s demise does not automatically end abortion throughout the United States. It simply returns authority to duly elected state legislatures to pass protective common-sense legislation that is supported by the majority of the state’s citizens.
For example, fathers were relegated to the sidelines, helpless to protect their unborn babies. States are now free to establish rights for fathers concerning the life-or-death decision of their children.
We have reason for much optimism in a post-Roe America, contrary to the shrill voices of the radical Left channeling Chicken Little and declaring that the sky is falling. They claim that thousands of women will die without access to abortion.
Quite the opposite. Women and their babies will thrive without abortion. Poland passed legislation ending most abortions and women’s health improved in all monitored categories. Croatia experienced similar improvements in women’s health.
The battlelines over abortion have now shifted to individual states, which gives us hope for the future. The pro-life movement’s strength lies in its grassroots abilities. With the “termination” of Roe, approximately 21states already protect or significantly defend their preborn children. Nine more are expected to join that category after efforts to pass pro-life legislation.
Now more than ever, our pro-life advancements are crucial to saving babies and protecting their mothers. Our victories will not be undermined by unelected justices on the nation’s highest court. Passing pro-life legislation will have an immediate effect on saving lives!
