Among the devastation and human carnage, Ukrainian women are giving birth in unimaginable places. One in her early twenties gave birth to a baby girl, Mia, in an underground subway station. A post on twitter later read, “A shinning beacon of hope during some of the darkest times.” A boy was born in the basement of a hospital damaged by attacks. A later Facebook post read, “In conditions far from those who deserve a new life, the voice of the newborn…it’s a boy!” The wife of one who works for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs had a girl. He said, “Last night, to the roar of Gostomel and the howling of sirens, my wife gave birth to my daughter! Like a star in the dark at such a difficult time.” Please keep Ukraine in your prayers.
