Paid Bereavement Leave for Abortion

The Portland, Oregon city council unanimously passed a stunning policy.  It grants three days of bereavement leave after an abortion.  A woman receives paid time off for intentionally taking the life of her baby.  This has got to make even the most extreme pro-abortion activist squirm.  Massachusetts Senator Elizabeth Warren once said, “Having an abortion is no different than someone having their tonsils removed.”  If that’s true, why do they need paid time off to grieve?  We grieve because someone has died – not a part of the woman’s body, not a mass of tissue – a baby.  Abortion extremists lament the stigma attached to abortion; well, this’ll add to it.  Abortion is obviously wrong if you have to grieve afterward.  Maybe we shouldn’t allow the killing of another innocent person.
