Since the Texas Heartbeat Act took effect, the state’s pro-life pregnancy centers have geared up to accommodate the new normal. The Greenville center is an example. The sonographer was increased to full-time, the number of nurses on duty was upped to accommodate more appointments, and there’s now staff available after hours. The demand for pregnancy tests increased by 30% ultrasound up by 150%. A Houston center had standing room only with a line out the door. One center said several girls were relieved a heartbeat could be heard so they could avoid an abortion. Centers are also preparing for the higher number of babies expected to be born and the resources needed to meet the demand. Yes, pro-lifers are there for the women and their babies.
