For decades, pro-life Americans have quietly worked to protect unborn babies and their mothers from abortion. That compassion has played out for50 years at the Heartbeat of Toledo pregnancy center. One of the founders was Elenore Maier, a holocaust survivor who back then recognized the similarity of abortion and the ghastly actions of the Nazis. Volunteers and staff have stood in the gap to provide women and men life-affirming alternatives to abortion – equipping them to say yes to life. Julie, who benefited from their services in the eighties now sports a photograph of her family, including grandchildren made possible because the center empowered her to reject abortion. Heartbeat of Toledo and thousands of other centers are protecting human life.
