Renaming Revolution

Bradley Mattes   |   July 26, 2021

An online network for mothers produced a Renaming Revolution Glossary, a list of preferred semantics.  That is, giving good-sounding names to things that aren’t good, and abortion was given ample camouflage.  Anything associated with abortion was put into the category of “Loss.”  The word abortion is interchangeable with words like “compassionate removal” or “miscarriage without symptoms.”  The unborn baby is called “pregnancy tissue.”  A chemical abortion pill procedure is called “compassionate induction.”  When a woman has multiple abortions, it’s referred to as “recurrent miscarriage.”  Even a birth mother who doesn’t parent is dehumanized by the cold term “birther.”  In her heart a mother knows abortion is wrong, so they stop at nothing to disguise it.
