A wonderful article was published on the website of the Harrisburg’s Patriot News. It was titled, “Mom’s ‘biggest blessing’: Spared from abortion, Micah Parsons about to become 1st-round NFL draft pick.” Micah’s mother refused the pressure of abortion and the paper celebrated the resultant blessing. This triggered Nicole Auerbach, a sportswriter who posted a snarky tweet condemning that such a mainstream media outlet put a positive spin on rejecting abortion. She wrote, “I cannot believe a legitimate news outlet ran “spared from abortion” in a subhead about someone.” She expected other writers to pile on and force the paper to take the story down. But they didn’t and Auerbach was left to stew in her unrighteous indignation. An act of love and common sense won out.
