The Chinese Embassy in the US recently posted on Twitter an example of fraudulent propaganda. They claimed a study shows Uighur women have been “emancipated,” provided “gender equality” and “reproductive health” so they were “no longer baby-making machines.” As a result, they’re now “more confident and independent.” These are the women the Chinese government is forcing to have up to eight abortions, some even in the ninth month, and infanticide for infants who survive. An estimated one million Uighurs have been imprisoned in so-called “re-education” camps, where they’re subjected to multiple inhumanities. China has a sordid past of forcing abortion on its citizens for decades. Now they want you to believe it’s all for the common good of the people.
