Horrific and Dehumanizing

Secretary of State Mike Pompeo sent a stern and public rebuke to China, calling it to end “horrific” and “dehumanizing” abuses. According to an Associated Press, which interviewed multiple sources, China’s government has been forcing abortion and sterilization, among other appalling punishments, on what it believes to be undesirable segments of their population.  Birthrates in the regions of Hotan and Kashgar have plummeted by over 60 percent.  This comes at a time China is battling to end an out-of-control downward spiral of its overall population.  It’s no surprise, the Chinese government is calling this accusation “fabricated,” but its lengthy record on human rights violations is horrifyingly clear.
