A big debate developed during the Coronavirus crisis. Governors in seven states so far directed its abortion facilities to close because abortion is an elective procedure. All other elective surgeries and procedures were put on hold, and so were abortions in Texas, Louisiana, Ohio, Tennessee, Mississippi, Iowa and Oklahoma. And with good reason. Abortion procedures and their complications use already critically low medical supplies. For example, an abortion mill in Illinois had to call an ambulance which took the woman to a nearby hospital emergency room that likely has its hands full treating Coronavirus patients. Even in the face of this reality, Planned Parenthood is taking these good governors to court, but I support these leaders. We need more like them.
