Will the coronavirus impact unborn babies if their mothers have it? There’s no definitive data yet that confirms or denies transmission from mother to baby. However, the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, the Royal College of OB/GYN, the CDC, and the medical journal Lancet have stated the limited evidence doesn’t show unborn babies get infected by moms who have the virus. They also say there’s no evidence the virus gets into breastmilk. One study tested amniotic fluid, cord blood and breastmilk samples. But this research is with very small groups of women, and experts don’t fully understand how the coronavirus is transmitted. These uncertain times require we put our full trust in God. He will never fail us.
