According to research, five crucial resources help pregnant and parenting students remain at colleges and universities throughout America. Students for Life of America has begun to research these campuses with the goal of helping students who have said no to abortion and yes to life. The five areas of help are Title Nine sex discrimination compliance, housing access, on-campus resources, financial aid and medical attention. These are particularly needed at community colleges where about a quarter of the student body is parenting. For example, a study at Monroe Community College found parents who used the on-campus childcare were three times more likely to graduate than parents who didn’t. Helping parents during and after pregnancy make us a stronger nation.
