Vincent Lambert is the French counterpart of Terri Schiavo who was dehydrated and starved to death in America. Like Terri, Vincent isn’t terminally ill and has limited awareness of his surroundings. The European Court of Human Rights ruled against his family and allowed food and fluids to be taken away until he dies. The family appealed to the UN Committee on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities, which demanded the French government protect Vincent’s life until they make a decision – likely to take two years. France is likely obligated to cooperate because they agreed to this treaty. If the Committee stays true to their rules, withdrawing food and fluids to kill Vincent will not be allowed. Please keep him and his family in your prayers.
