I’ve always had a special place in my heart for individuals with Down syndrome. I think it’s because of the joy and beauty they bring to life. It’s beyond tragic many parents are encouraged to abort their babies diagnosed with this condition while in the womb. Recently I watched a video that brought tears to my eyes. Stefan Xidas, a young man with down syndrome, had one wish: to sing the national anthem at Wrigley Field. After raising nearly $18,000 for the Special Olympics, his dream came true and Stefan knocked it out of the park! The only improvement I can think of would’ve been to trade out that Cubs jersey for a Cincinnati Reds one, but that would be nitpicking. Way to go Stefan. You made us all proud!
