Spina Bifida Miracle

The doctors at Texas Children’s Hospital said the unborn child’s spina bifida was the worst they’ve ever repaired.  The condition results when tissue fails to close over the baby’s spinal cord, resulting in paralysis and other complications.  The boy’s parents, Lexi and Joshuwa Royer, chose an experimental surgery when their baby was six months along in the womb.  Tiny slits were made into the uterus, then a camera and small instruments inserted to perform the surgery.  Doctors held their breath after the baby was born, and within moments he began to move his legs.  One surgeon said the result was “unbelievable.”  Miraculous events such as this reveal the humanity of the unborn child.  Psalm 139, verse 14 comes to mind, “I am fearfully and wonderfully made.”
