Congressman Ben Ray Lujan announced the Democrat party would financially support pro-life candidates next year to win back a majority in the House. To get there, they need to win two-dozen seats from Republicans. In the past, pro-life Democrat candidates were weeded out when the Party refused to support them financially or otherwise. This is good news, but the Democrat leadership must go a step further. They must also commit to giving committee chairmanships to these new pro-life House members. Those positions have been routinely given to pro-abortion politicians who then blocked any pro-life legislation from moving out of committee to the House floor for vote. The Democrat leadership needs to promise more than lip service. We need to see them committed to real change.
