A new study says you live longer if you’re a parent. This may come as a surprise to the parent of an infant, two-year-old, preteen or teenager. Actually, it might come as a surprise to any parent. Researchers tracked over a million people, and gathered information on, among other things, whether they married and had children. Their findings say men and women with at least one child had lower death risks and lived a little longer. By the age of sixty, men gained two years and women a hear-and-a-half. I’ll leave you to contemplate why the difference. Some speculate married people live healthier lives, although I recall many family meals at McDonalds when the kids were little. In the end, I believe it comes down to children being a blessing from God.
