Being a full-time pro-life advocate has its ups and downs. But pro-lifers in France have it worse in an increasingly hostile environment. The legislature just passed a law targeting pro-lifers with blatant government censorship. The operators of pro-life websites could face two years in jail and a thirty-thousand euro fine if they post “misleading” information that discourages women from having an abortion. The definition of misleading is the key. Basically, it means any effective communication that counters the abortion industry in France. It’s particularly ironic because a government website reads, “there are no physical or psychological after-effects from abortion.” These are outright lies, but those in power make the rules. Please pray for our pro-life colleagues in France.
