World Families Want More Children not Less

Bradley Mattes   |   September 23, 2016

Undoubtedly, there are still people out there who think the earth is overpopulated, so share this with them.  New research by The Economist showed the world is “suffering a shortage of children.”  They found access to contraception was very seldom an issue.  Families polled in nineteen countries found most families have fewer children than their ideal.  Families that exceeded their goal in number of children generally delighted in them.  In reality, families with fewer children actually struggled.  What didn’t come as a surprise to many is financial problems are the biggest hurdle to most families wanting to expand.  The United Nations and other so-called helpful agencies can do more for nations by helping them preserve their greatest natural and renewable resource—the next generation of children.
