Donna Callender was struggling with terminal brain and lung cancer. She had planned on attending her daughter’s doctor visit at twenty-weeks of pregnancy. That’s when Taylor would see her unborn baby on ultrasound. But before it happened, Donna became too weak and was hospitalized. So Taylor brought the ultrasound machine to the bedside of her mother, and there—together—they witnessed the beautiful miracle of life. At one point they saw the baby smiling. This was an extra precious time for Taylor and her mom because three days later Donna died. Now her granddaughter is connected in another special way. Her middle name is Donna. We never know when God will call us home. If you haven’t had that special time with a family member, do it now. You’ll cherish it forever.
