You’ve heard touching stories of reunions between birthmothers and their children who were adopted. But this one will stand out in your mind. Betty Morrell was adopted into a wonderful family, but her parents died when she was in her twenties. A slip of the tongue while speaking with an aunt changed Betty’s world. She found out what her birth-name was and where she was born. But still, her search came up empty. Fast forward to the present when Betty’s eighty-two years old. With the assistance of an online company she finally found her mother’s name. Lena Pierce is ninety-six and still living! What a remarkable and joyous reunion. Lena was only fourteen when Betty was born and the state took her away. As for Betty, she said, “My life is complete.”
