Oregon Elderly at Risk for Abuse or Worse

Bradley Mattes   |   November 19, 2015

So far, five states have legalized physician assisted suicide.  Ten more states are considering such legislation this year and twenty-two are considering it for the future.  Oregon was one of the first to cross the threshold into euthanasia, and opponents warned it would open a Pandora ’s Box of unexpected evils.  Those evils are now making themselves known.  The Oregon Office of Adult Abuse Prevention and Investigations announced there had been a ten-percent increase in abuse of the elderly last year.  As baby boomers age, there are fewer workers to pay for their Social Security and healthcare.  As a result, the elderly are becoming an unwanted burden and it’s beginning to show.  It’s more likely they’ll be victimized by coerced or forced euthanasia.  Please pray for them.
