No Reason for an Exception

Bradley Mattes   |   July 22, 2015

During debate on a twenty-week ban on abortion in the South Carolina legislature, Democrat State Representative, Dr. Robert Ridgeway, insisted on an exception for babies with disabilities. He said an unborn baby with a disability is a “medical decision to be made by a doctor.” I’d like to know who made him the authority over life and death—even above the parents. He seems to think MD stands for medical deity. Take the case of Kayden, born with Trisomy 18, which is usually lethal. Kayden recently celebrated his fourteen birthday. Many times the doctors are wrong. In any given month, I get six or seven examples of doctors predicting the worst and reality turning out much better than expected. No state needs an exception for disabled babies. God has a plan for each and every one.
