During this special programming to celebrate mothers, I want to include those who’ve been overlooked. They’re the women who desperately want to be mothers but for some reason God has withheld that joy. In spite of countless prayers and fertility remedies—both medical and otherwise—she and her husband experience crushing disappointments every time the pregnancy test registers negative. There are also the women who suffer multiple, emotionally-devastating miscarriages. She is certainly a mother, but her children are in heaven and far outside her physical embrace. You and I must spiritually adopt these women on Mother’s Day. Remember them in your prayers and reach out to sidelined mothers who will be suffering heartache on a national day set aside for loving celebration.
