One of the best ways to reduce the number of abortions in America is for the family to be strong and enduring. The goal should be to share with future generations that the family is key to protecting and sustaining life. In this context I want to congratulate John and Ann Betar who recently celebrated their eighty-first wedding anniversary. Yes, you heard me correctly. Ann, who’s ninety-seven and John, one-hundred-one, say it hasn’t been all wine and roses, but marriage is something that takes continued work. They say you have to “roll with the punches.” Gee, at thirty-three years of marriage, I feel like such a novice compared to them. Here’s my advice. Keep Christ as the foundation of your marriage and view each baby God gives you as the true blessings they are.
