A good friend of mine is Melissa Ohden, and she has an unusual adoption story for this week of special adoption programming during National Adoption Awareness Month. Melissa survived a late-term, salt-poison abortion procedure. She had many challenges as a very premature baby, but miraculously, she survived unscathed. A family opened their hearts and home to Melissa where she flourished with her forever family. She’s now married with a child of her own. Sadly, society often sends the message abortion is more humane than making an adoption plan for your baby. Adoption’s an alternative to abortion that both the mother and child can live with. Learn more from our adoption resources and visit Melissa’s organization, The Abortion Survivors.
