As we enter into what are considered the most solemn days of the calendar, let’s pause from our busy lives to contemplate the horrific price our Savior paid to have us by His side in eternity.
Jesus who led a perfect life was tortured and killed in the most humiliating way the depraved Roman soldiers could muster, egged on by pompous religious leaders.
The beatings, scourging, and crucifixion should give us pause, especially because they were demanded as payment for our own sin.
When Jesus took His last breath and the torture ceased, there must have been a collective inward sigh of relief from family and followers. Imagine the heavy mantle of despondency and raw grief that followed. The King who was to deliver Israel from the long, cruel arm of Rome was dead.

Those closest to Jesus realized it’s Friday but forgot as Pastor S. M. Lockridge said in his unforgettable video, Sunday’s Coming.
A similar feeling can fester in the hearts and minds of pro-life advocates. Since Roe’s demise it’s as if Satan has been unleashed. In some ways it feels like it’s Friday again.
Ephesians 6:12 says, “we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against…the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places.”
Extreme pro-abortion activists lie, bomb, burn and defame to advance their culture of death. In too many states pro-abortion politicians seem to advance Satan’s abortion agenda with unsettling ease.
The attacks are relentless. Only total submission to all things abortion will do. As a result, tens of millions of babies are killed while their parents carry the lifelong memory of ending the life of their child.
It‘s Friday. At times it seems the scorched earth antics of the enemy will prevail. But in spite of everything thrown at the defenders of LIFE, babies are saved, unexpected parents supplied and looked after, and the hearts of grieving mothers and fathers ministered to.
For those who daily carry the burden of a past abortion, hear this. When our dying Savior declared from the cross, “It is finished!” He meant that His priceless blood paid for and redeemed every sin known to man. Even the sin of abortion.
Because of Friday He waits with open arms for you!
Of course, the story doesn’t end on Friday. That was merely the beginning.
Because of that first Sunday, we know with certainty that while at times it seems like Satan is winning, we know that a “Second Sunday” is coming when Jesus will gather us up to be with Him forever.
The staff of Life Issues Institute and I wish you a
blessed Friday and
a joy-filled
worship-driven
Resurrection Sunday.
