There is a multipronged attack by abortion advocates to expand their arsenal of abortionists, even at the expense of the constitutional rights of pro-life physicians.
The Biden administration is using Obamacare to force pro-life doctors to participate in abortion or suffer career-ending consequences. Biden has proposed a rule change under Obamacare that would classify abortion as “healthcare.” Those who refuse to provide abortion services would be guilty of sex discrimination. This also places hospitals at risk if they refuse to perform abortions.
Piling on, the rigidly pro-abortion American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology, claiming abortion is an “essential” part of so-called “reproductive health,” is threatening to decertify physicians who provide “misinformation and disinformation” regarding abortion to their patients.
Dr. Donna Harrison, CEO of the American Association of Pro-Life Obstetricians and Gynecologists, responded with the threat of a lawsuit. She stated that tens of thousands of OBGYN’s would be at risk for sharing peer-reviewed, evidence-based facts concerning abortion with their patients.
The abortion industry is facing a shrinking population of abortionists and the demise of Roe will significantly impact the number of them in training. According to the journal Obstetrics & Gynecology, “43.9% of [OB/GYN] residents currently train in states predicted to outlaw abortion.” As a result, the abortion industry is desperate to expand its pool, even when it tramples the rights of pro-life doctors. The zealous pro-abortion advocacy of President Biden has put them at a high risk of losing their rights.
