In recent years we have had many blessings in the fight for life. Not only did we achieve what was once thought to be impossible in overturning Roe v Wade, but we have successfully defunded Planned Parenthood and convinced the administration to investigate the dangers of the chemical abortion pill.
However, progress is not a linear path as much as we might wish it to be. We have experienced setbacks and occasional defeats. Radical pro-abortion constitutional amendments have been passed in pro-life states. The dangerous chemical abortion pill has become more popular than ever and is now being illegally mailed into pro-life states.
There is no doubt about it, there is much work to be done. Just as it took countless hours of hard work and tireless advocacy to achieve the victories we stand on, it will take a similar Herculean effort to take the next hill before us.
The good news is that there is great hope. It has become more and more undeniable in the wake of recent events, there is a revival happening in our country. Young people, particularly young men, are yearning for truth and justice. Lucky for us, and unfortunate for the purveyors of death, truth and justice are on our side.
As a member of Gen Z myself, I have a unique ear to the ground when it comes to my generation. For years I have told those who will listen that this generation, despite its many faults, will be the ones to realign and change the country for the better. In fact, an Ipsos poll from 2023 found that less Gen Z men supported abortion than any other generational cohort. What was once dismissed as wishful thinking can no longer be ignored.
Not only is America’s youth turning over a new leaf and honestly pursuing truth, but the data is shifting in our favor.
Preliminary data from the pro-abortion Guttmacher Institute shows a 5% decline in total abortions during the first six months of 2025. While a 5% decline is still about 95% short of our goal, this data should be encouraging. Despite the overturn of Roe v Wade and the enactment of many pro-life laws at the state level, abortion numbers continued to rise in the following years. Stopping that trend is monumental.
When a train is moving, it is very hard to stop. If the abortion industry is losing momentum, life is winning. These numbers are more than just a statistic, they are human lives. Babies that are saved from the horrors and barbarity of abortion. Children who will grow up and explore the world, form relationships, and Lord willing start a family of their own someday.
It is understandable to become discouraged on occasions. We are in a very difficult fight that can feel impossible at times. There are those who will become “black pilled” and believe that no matter our efforts, we will never end abortion.
My encouragement to all who fight for life is to never lose hope. When climbing a mountain, there is one surefire way to ensure you never reach the top. All you have to do is stop. In fact, Mount Everest is littered with the bodies of climbers who stopped for a break and never got back up to keep moving forward. Surely if they could, they would not advise anyone to accept the lie that it is better to stop halfway up a mountain.
We must not take the “black pill.” We must keep moving forward with determination and passion to be the voice for the voiceless.
The future is bright. Our movement is strong and there is help on the way. Young people are looking for truth and justice. We must be there to show them the truth. Abortion is the greatest human rights atrocity of our time.
To those who have come before me and fought so tirelessly to defend life, thank you. It is a pleasure to be in such excellent company. I look forward to our continued work together to save lives.
