As we gather this year for Thanksgiving, there is so much to be thankful for! This year has been full of hard-fought victories and blessings from God.
A Historic Victory for Life
One of the year’s greatest accomplishments was the successful defunding of Planned Parenthood and other abortion giants. In March, I joined hundreds of pro-life leaders on Capitol Hill to advocate for ending taxpayer funding of the abortion industry. By July, our efforts succeeded. Planned Parenthood acknowledged that the loss of funding could force as many as 200 facilities to close, and closures are already underway.
Progress in Protecting Patients
This year, we also saw national attention on the dangers of organ harvesting and flawed brain death criteria. After years of advocacy, the Department of Health and Human Services announced a major initiative to reform the organ transplant system. Hospitals had been allowing procurement processes to begin while patients still showed signs of life, a shocking reality our work helped bring to light. While more work remains, we are thankful that reform is starting and that the sanctity of life is being considered.
Hope in the Next Generation
Investing in young people remains vital to building a culture of life. At Turning Point USA’s Student Action Summit, I met thousands of students eager to stand boldly for life. Their energy and conviction were inspiring, and it’s clear that the future is bright. With guidance and support, this next generation is ready to carry the fight forward, and we are grateful to witness their rise.
Expanding Our Reach
Our radio program, Straight Talk on Life Issues, now airs on more than 165 stations nationwide and has surpassed 7,000 podcast downloads. Social media efforts have also grown exponentially, reaching over 80,000 people in just one month and sparking thousands of meaningful conversations. These platforms are helped us share pro-life education far and wide at a critical time.
