How the Abortion Industry Silences Pro-Life Medical Voices

Bradley Mattes   |   September 18, 2025

The persecution of those who stand in the gap protecting innocent human life from abortion was evident in horrifying fashion last week. Charlie Kirk was a steadfast voice for the voiceless.

Sadly, persecution, in many forms, has long been practiced against those who speak the truth about abortion and its brutal and deadly impact on unborn babies and their mothers.

Three years ago the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology (ABOG) fired a shot across the bow of America’s pro-life OB/GYNs. They threatened to remove their certification, thus imperiling their livelihood if they didn’t tow the line.

Their crime? Disseminating “medical misinformation” about the dangers of abortion’s impact on mothers. The mere call for accurate statistical reports regarding abortion’s negative impact on women’s health could potentially land a doctor in the unemployment line.

It started during the COVID crisis, when physicians who publicly advocated messaging and treatments contrary to the government’s ideology were professionally silenced.

Big Brother ABOG further warned they will monitor reports of such misinformation, and if they find violations, the wayward doctor’s ability “to gain or maintain ABOG certification may be lost.”

A Target Rich Environment

The pro-life Charlotte Lozier Institute (CLI) has made a credible name for itself within medical and scientific circles.

Their success has become apparent by the vitriol they’ve attracted from other so-called medical institutions and legacy media.

An NBC News article is a prime example designed to discredit and silence an effective pro-life voice. The smear campaign includes attacking the messenger.

Dr. Ingrid Skop

Dr. Ingrid Skop, a longtime OB/GYN and vice president and director of medical affairs at CLI was criticized by the article’s author for her white coat at a Texas rally. However, zero media expressed frustration when a line of white-coated abortionists joined Vice President Kamala Harris on stage for a political rally.

The article further cast shade on CLI’s support of abortion pill reversal, its criticism of the FDA’s handing of chemical abortion, and Dr. Skop’s position on the Texas Maternity Mortality Review Committee simply because she was pro-life.

It is telling that some of Guttmacher Institute’s positions on abortion, though medically and scientifically debunked continue to enjoy blind loyalty from the adoring media.

Illegal Abortion

For years the mantra of pro-abortion activists was. “Make abortion safe, legal and rare.” It must be legal, they incessantly claimed, in order to be safe. They accused pro-life advocates of forcing women to take matters into their own hands and endangering their lives by illegal abortions.

Oh, how their tune has changed! Now abortion advocates like Guttmacher publicly claim illegal self-managed abortion “can be done safely.”

But here’s the real reason they are putting women’s health and welfare in the crosshairs. Guttmacher asserts illegal abortion “is critical to normalizing and advancing this vision [of unrestrained abortion].”

The sad reality is women are unsuspecting pawns in the battle to achieve unbridled abortion until birth throughout America.

Mental Health

There is an avalanche of research showing abortion negatively impacts women’s mental health. The most recent study looked at 1.2 million pregnancies. In the face of this documented evidence Guttmacher continues to deny women’s vulnerability here, here, and here

Danger of Chemical Abortion

Multiple studies document that chemical abortion is unsafe for women, yet Guttmacher sustains a head-in-the-sand methodology regarding this reality. They continue to claim that “Decades of studies have shown that [chemical] abortion is safe and effective.”

The media should be concerned about the role of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists in blatantly covering up complications resulting from abortion pills.

Abortion Pill Reversal

For decades progesterone has been safely used with at-risk pregnancies and has shown to be up to 68% effective when used to reverse a chemical abortion. Even so, Guttmacher called Abortion Pill Reversal “Unproven, Unethical and Dangerous.”

The actions of Guttmacher Institute and its allies in legacy media are on the wrong side of history. Their efforts to hide the harm abortion poses to unborn babies and their mothers will someday be exposed and condemned for their crimes against humanity.

Defending innocent life,
