Cincinnati, OH (May 21, 2014) – The 35th Annual Telly Awards has named the television program Facing Life Head-On as a winner of two Bronze Telly Awards for the episode The Widows of Ethiopia. The awards were granted in the categories of Cultural TV Program and Social Responsibility TV Program.
The Widows of Ethiopia is both an informative and emotional journey that follows the lives of impoverished and abandoned widows. The program profiles the work of Adoption Ministry 1:27, an outreach of the Ethiopian Youth With a Mission, which provides sponsorships through donors in the US. The ministry takes care of the widows’ basic physical needs of food, shelter, clothing and medication. In addition, spiritual nurturing is also given, which is a profound encouragement to the women.
