Exposing FIGO’s Abortion Agenda

Extreme pro-abortion organizations are known to hide behind a façade of legitimate medicine and science. The Population Research Institute has released documented evidence exposing one of them.

The International Federation of Gynecology and Obstetrics (FIGO) presents itself as a professional organization dedicated to maternal and gynecological health. Its activities belie their stated goals. FIGO networks with other likeminded organizations representing more than 130 countries. Their shared political mission is to legalize abortion until birth throughout the world – even when it requires pressure, coercion, or force.

Myth of overpopulation debunked

FIGO subscribes to the long debunked notion that the world is overpopulated. It employs abortion as a preferred tool while training abortionists and advancing a political agenda that believes abortion is an essential and sacred right of the masses.

Across the globe there are legitimate medical issues facing the reproductive health of millions of women. These include STD’s, cervical cancer and other gynecological maladies. Yet FIGO’s primary objective is to expand abortion access.

President Trump’s efforts to eliminate USAID and pull America out of the World Health Organization (WHO) will have a lasting impact helping to undermine extreme pro-abortion advocates like FIGO and its contemporaries.

Last October FIGO received $89 million of our tax dollars through USAID.

Their primary focus is on Ibero-America, particularly Argentina, Chile, Peru and Mexico where pro-life laws are still in effect. They have worked with the International Planned Parenthood Federation to exert pressure on countries where the unborn are protected.

Another focus is Africa where they work to train abortionists in remote areas and promote the sale of chemical abortion pills without any medical supervision. Europe is also in the crosshairs of this ideologically motivated entity.

FIGO condemned the repeal of Roe v Wade and also promotes its abortion agenda through the United Nations and WHO.

FIGO’s efforts include eliminating conscience protections for pro-life medical personnel. They also work to protect illegal abortionists from prosecution by the authorities and promote do-it-yourself abortions with no medical assistance. In this context, the abortion pill is the equivalent of a chemical coat hanger.

It defends gruesome late-term abortions, claiming that any limitation on abortion violates human rights, of course ignoring the civil liberties of tens of millions of preborn children. Far from being a medical or scientific organization FIGO is merely an abortion agenda driven organization. And like Planned Parenthood, it should be defunded on every level of support.
